Spring Water for the Spirit

Naren

A day ago, my friend Melanie and I met and connected with Star in an intuitive Animal Communication reading. When Star came in, she brought a big tall glass of water with her. Fresh from the mountain spring. She plunged her face into it, muzzle slurping. The glass surprisingly was wide enough. The water carried something special - energy from the Earth.

As Melanie and I drank from the glass, we each felt a change within us. The cold water changing each part of us as it entered our body and found its way through us.

When I work with energy during a meditation, I let it enter my body and flow through me. Star told us to "Consume" the water, the energy. The feeling was different. The energy she gave us, from that mountain stream [from the earth] was also given to us from her / through her. It stayed within me. I literally felt it in my fingers, my feet, my body. Not flowing out.

Today, I feel the energy stayed with me, it recharged me. Star told us not to wait until you are out of energy, describing it as the difference between charging up a phone from a battery at zero, and one that is still half or more full. "Let's still recharge it. You know, don't wait until… The screen goes black" she said.

Melanie said to me "And that feeling that I have, that joy, that fun. Star says that's part of the recharging." The clincher from Star: "if… you… are… Faithful, or, consistent, in recharging regularly. You won't go dark. Because you won't have an opportunity… you won't give your body an opportunity to shut down."

What I realized is that there are different ways to recharge. And different things you have to recharge. That you should recharge. Physical as well as spiritual. Recharging can be different from allowing energy from the earth and the universe to flow through you. They both have their place. They work in different ways.

We asked Star how we could share the idea of recharging your energy. Here's what she showed me.

During a period of my life where I was living far from home, I created a photo album dedicated to all the animals from my childhood. I was really missing the animals who were like family. Over the last 20 years, that album has been opened more times than any other album in my possession. I’d refer to it often - relive through it.

From the baby picture of me with Casey the First, an Irish Setter with a wandering soul - to Tina, a horse I cared for as a teenager, who suffered me painting anarchy symbols on her rump.

Sometimes when I want to share a specific memory with people, I remove the associated photo from the Animals Album… and like many things in my life, I fail to return the photos back to their special place in the album when I’m finished with them.

When I open the album now, there are so many gaps - missing photos. Treasured memories I felt were important enough to take them out. Sounds counter-intuitive, but it’s what happens! All of those gaps represent love and cherished pets. Each gap represents a time when I felt love. And when I reflect upon it now, the energy of that love refuels me.

Recently, I have been collecting memorabilia and photos about my horse Chandler, as well as writing stories about the brilliant herd of horses in my life now. Creating a new album for the present - to ensure I never forget anything. The animals mean too much to me.

During our recent connection with Star, she let me know to start preparing more journals for the animals of my future. She reminded me that as much as I cherish the animals who helped shape me - and continue to shape me - there are many more excitedly waiting to enter the next chapters of my story.

What you can do with your Animal

Or listen on your favorite podcast app

We don't have to wait until we're running on empty to fill back up. Your animal(s), both those here with you physically and those in spirit, can show you where to find a good drink of energy, and share it with you. In this one, your animal drinks first. Then they invite you to join them.

Go to a quiet place where you can relax your body and mind. Close your eyes and picture a mountain stream on a warm day, the water cold and clear. Let one of your animals come to the stream and drink. Watch them. How do they look once they've had their fill?

Then let them invite you to drink too. Cup your hands, bring the water up, and take a sip. Notice where it goes in your body, and whether it stays. Do you feel fuller, lighter, more awake? Just take note of it.

If you'd like, think of the other animals you've loved, now and in the past. Picture them as pages in an album. You may find some blank pages as well. Those are for the animals still to come.

When you're ready, thank your animal and tell them you'll be back. Open your eyes. Then go get a real glass of water and drink it here in the physical world. It's a small way to bring the recharge back with you.

Come back to the stream often. As Star would say, you don't need to wait until you're almost empty. It's better to top off.

Thank you for continuing this journey with us. Try it yourself, and listen to the guided meditation.

Ruminations

"I feel like it's… Like, my body is a continuation of the river. And the water is finding its paths. down the different, like, the arms, the legs" - Melanie

"It’s a very similar feeling to me for when I have energy going through. And in meditation, it just sort of flows. But this is… It's, like, it stays within me. It goes out to all of me… everywhere in my body, but… that's where it is. It's not leaving" - Naren
